'Homeward Round' 

Team - Chonk Games - 3 Prog, 2 Art

Engine - Unity

Jam Theme - What home means to you

Play as a round woman trying to get home during the end of the world. On your way you must collect as many of your pet round animals as possible while the road behind you crumbles and falls down into hell. Collect power ups to make your journey easier (and to attract animals in with the food), and try not to destroy any obstacles in your way! Aim to get through the door of your house with as many points as possible!

My Responsibilities
  • Coded obstacle destruction mechanics (Voxel based destruction)

  • Co-created level movement and crumbling effect

  • Made the amazing main menu :D

  • Sourced some sound FX

  • Contributed to game idea (and game name!)

Global Game Jam 2018

'Ex0dus' 

Team - Meh Games - 5 Prog, 2 Art

Engine - Unity

Jam Theme - Transmit

Play as a robot priest leading a rebellion, recruiting imprisoned robot minions and transmitting their unique abilities throughout your horde to solve puzzles, sacrificing some of your followers in the process.

My Responsibilities
  • Contributed to game idea and design

  • Coded the minion bridge build mechanic and 'Transmit' ring recruitment

  • Implemented level mechanics such as the fan and rising platforms

  • Assisted with AI and controller input

Global Game Jam 2017

'Gull of War' 

Team - Misheard Ideas - 3 Prog, 2 Art, 1 Audio

Engine - GameMaker, GML

Jam Theme - Waves

A top down point and click game about a destructive seagull with a goal to wipe out humanity by dumping anything you can find into the ocean to create a tsunami.

My Responsibilities
  • Contribute to creating the game idea/initial design.

  • Learn the basics of the GameMaker engine.

  • Implemented the seagull movement system

  • Created the level layout with the provided assets.

Abertay Serious Game Jam 2018

'VR Chemistry Lab' 

Team - 4 programmers 

Engine - Unity

Genre - VR Chemistry Sandbox type game

This was a Jam organised alongside Dr Kevin Jones of St. Andrews University to develop a chemistry experiment game. The brief was to create a game where to player follows instructions of the given lab experiment for student use before entering a real laboratory.

 

Our team made a cooking mama style VR laboratory game where to player must follow given tasks to recreate the given experiment of Reduction Using Metal Hydrides.

My Responsibilities
  • Coded the VR interactions (picking up and throwing mechanics) and some game object interactables.

  • Added experiment tasks list to notepads and scored them off when completed.

  • Assisted in making presentation slides and gameplay videos

Abertay Serious Game Jam 2017

'Cost of Living' 

Team - 4 programmers 

Engine - Unity

Genre - 3D point and click game

This was an Abertay Jam organised alongside INTERPOL/IIPCIC to develop a game to support their online training course.

Our project aimed on teaching players how buying counterfeit goods can effect the economy. The player must buy the correct items at a market in order for the economy to survive. These fake items contained small or large details that the player could find and avoid

My Responsibilities​
  • Created and developed the game idea with the team.

  • Coded the character movement system and interactions.

  • Since the lack of artists, I was responsible for obtaining art assets. 

  • Set up the game level design.
